Description

Scope of Work:

Repair and overhaul of industrial natural gas engines in the shop as assigned by the Service Manager.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Must be able to perform shop overhauls
  • Must be able to perform small generator repair
  • Must be able to perform standby generator repair
  • Must be able to perform generator troubleshooting
  • Understands compressions and can do repairs
  • Understands pneumatic engine controls
  • Understands all phases of gas engine ignition systems
  • Must understand general engine machine work fundamentals
  • Stay informed of the changes in various models of equipment
  • Through evaluation must be able to suggest/recommend any other required repairs
  • Promote good welfare among the company and its' divisions
  • Perform other duties as assigned

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must have 2 year(s) previous experience
  • Must have G.E.D. High School Diploma, prefer applied certification (s) job description
  • Certification in WED VHP technology and VGF technology preferred
  • Must meet all of the qualifications of a Service Tech Class B
  • Must have basic electrical knowledge

  • Must have a working knowledge of the above titled position and how it relates to the overall business and its' objectives
  • Must meet goals and objectives set forth by the company
  • Must conform to company policies and procedures set forth by the company
  • Must have a current driver's license and acceptable driving record per WPI insurance carrier standard if driving company vehicle.
  • Must be able to pass and maintain drug and alcohol testing requirement as outlined by the Department of Transportation.
  • Must be computer literate, a Windows based environment preferred (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, Outlook)
  • Must be dependable and able to work independently
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Must be able to bend and twist several times a day
  • Must have the ability to work flexible hours and days
  • Must maintain good client relations
  • Must maintain a professional appearance
  • Must promote and maintain a clean, neat and safe work environment
  • Must have the ability to travel and stay overnight
  • Must possess troubleshooting skills
  • Must have the ability to effectively operate basic shop equipment
  • Must have the ability to obtain advanced manufacture certifications
  • Must protect the company assets and interests

Working Conditions:

  • Typical hours of work Monday through Friday; 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Weekend hours as necessary
  • Outside work as required
