Implements, evaluates and adjusts plan of care based on the expected patient outcome in concurrence of Registered Nurse or Nurse in Charge.
Continues on-going reassessment of patient and documents according to established guidelines; demonstrates appropriate application of age specific standards, policies and procedures and guidelines.
Performs patient care duties as needed for proper care including patients' vital signs and dressing or wounds.
Observes patients and reports adverse reactions to medication or treatment to medical personnel in charge.
Contributes to the on-going assessment and plan of care for patients and charts objectively.
Administers specified medication according to established procedures and notes time and amount on patients' charts.
Collects specimens, such as urine, blood, and sputum, from patients for testing and may perform routing laboratory tests on samples.
Utilize concepts of age/developmental stages in interactions with patients and families.
Adheres to all Hospital Policies and Procedures, specifically Guidelines for Appropriate Conduct, Corporate Compliance, Diversity, and Confidentiality.
REQUIREMENTS:
Graduate of an accredited school of Practical Nursing
Hold an active Louisiana State License.
One year experience in an acute care setting, preferred.
BLS-Healthcare provider. Current CPR certification.
