We currently have a need for a self-motivated, detail oriented and fast-learning Asset Management Consultant to manage immediate and long-term contracts. Primary duties of this position fall in two main categories:

Asset Management Consulting:

  • Support the development and implementation of asset management plans and programs, which include various combinations of client education; strategic planning; service level objectives; and risk modeling.
  • Evaluate utilities' asset management activities, including asset inventories; technology support; criticality; condition and remaining useful life; repair and renewal needs; and cost projections.
  • Provide recommendations for improved operations and maintenance practices, as well as supporting technology to minimize asset life cycle costs.
  • Provide advisory services on utility-specific information technology applications, especially enterprise asset and maintenance management systems (EAMS/CMMS) and complementary technologies (e.g., GIS, CCTV, mobile, business intelligence, condition analytics, and capital project management).
  • Improve the effectiveness of asset management technology support with master plans, business process improvement, data integration, and associated technology applications.
  • Perform analysis of large utility GIS, maintenance, or condition assessment databases to support inspection, condition assessment, and planning programs.
  • Manage the delivery of project work including attending meetings, performing analyses of client provided information, and synthesizing information and writing reports. This may include the oversight of junior analysts on particular tasks.
  • Support project managers in the coordination of project activities such as developing and tracking action items, scheduling meetings, and preparing progress reports; serve as a project manager for small to mid-size projects.
  • Be involved in marketing planning and proposals; managing client relationships with key and new clients.
  • Work collaboratively with other Business Classes for delivery of cross-discipline solutions.
  • Work cooperatively with HDR's National Directors to support Utility Management Services projects across the country.

Project Management:

  • Direct and coordinate work of single or multidiscipline teams throughout the project's lifecycle (from development & initiation to close-out).
  • Responsible for all aspects of large multidiscipline projects or medium-sized projects with high degree of technical complexity, involving a large project staff.
  • Produce and coordinate several projects concurrently.
  • Establish and maintain client relations, and be involved with marketing, contractual, design and production meetings.
  • Conduct work sessions for deliverable development in conjunction with other staff and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate staffing and workload through entire project life cycle, and ensure completion of deliverables on schedule.
  • Track financial aspects of projects, and coordinate and adjust work effort with team to ensure that work is completed within parameters of agreed-to budget and schedule.
  • Work with the Accounting, Operational and Business leadership for periodic project reviews.
  • Implement QA/QC procedures.
  • Supervise large project staffs and act as mentor for less-experienced Project Managers.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree
  • PE License
  • PMP certification
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • 7 years related experience
  • A minimum of 2 years project management experience
  • Must have the ability to interact with various design teams, have excellent organizational, project management and communication (both written and verbal) skills
