Position Description
Capital One is hiring for a Principal AML Analyst who will be responsible for participating and supporting the management of the comprehensive end-to-end processes of Capital One’s North America (CONA) AML Program. The position will be play a key role in AML Program management by ensuring that compliance risks are adequately identified, assess, monitored, and controlled. The individual in this position will be expected to assist in collaborative relationship building, prepare written communications and conduct meetings with management to escalate issues as warranted.
Help provide BSA/PATRIOT Act/OFAC subject matter expertise, including the development and implementation of best in class solutions, to Capital One lines of business; this will require the ability to respond to real-time requests for information, regulatory inquiries, while also providing research supporting the requests;
Participate in efforts to identify and develop projects/initiatives which promote efficiencies and/or stronger control environments, including the centralization and automation of AML processes across CONA’s lines of business;
Assist assessment projects which evaluate AML compliance risk throughout CONA, including the development of test programs to identify, measure, validate, and monitor AML control processes as well as compliance with internal AML policies, standards, and procedures;
Support OFAC sanctions and other regulatory control lists by reviewing false/positive approvals, reviewing and conducting KYC due diligence, reviewing compliance with Foreign Bank Certifications and CIP requirements;
Manage projects as assigned by the AML Program Manager;
Develop consultation skill set to prepare for interaction with the Internal Audit Department, communications with regulators, and coordination with various Capital One AML resources to ensure audit/regulatory excellence;
Provide support to branch personnel and other lines of businesses regarding cash transactions, suspicious activity, and potential money laundering questions; and
Review and drafting of policies and procedures.
Basic Qualifications:
• 4 year college degree
• 2 years Bank Secrecy Act experience, or demonstrate a strong level of technical competency regarding Bank Secrecy Act and USA Patriot Act regulations and requirements
• 1 year specific financial services industries experience, including retail and commercial banking, insurance, or broker/dealer lines of business
Preferred Qualifications
• 2+ years specific financial services industries experience, including retail and commercial banking, insurance, or broker/dealer lines of business
• 2+ years Bank Secrecy Act experience; or demonstrate a strong level of technical competency regarding Bank Secrecy Act and USA Patriot Act regulations and requirements
• ACAMS or willingness to achieve in the next 12 months; .
• Problem solving skills evidenced by the ability to evaluate the current state of compliance, identify the path to solution, and develop and execute a plan to achieve success
• Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills
• Professional services/consulting background.
